THE CENTRE FOR UNITED NATIONS AND PEACEKEEPING(CUNPK)
The Centre for United Nations Peacekeeping (CUNPK), was raised in the year 2000 as a joint venture of Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Defence and the Service Headquarters for pre-induction training of Indian Peacekeepers and those from Friendly Foreign Countries. The Centre conducts pre-deployment courses for Contingent Officers, Military Observers (MILOBs), Staff, and Logistics Officers before deployment to UN Peacekeeping Operations.
Centre conducts multifarious activities to include International courses for Friendly Foreign Countries, Bilateral/Multilateral Field Training Exercises & Table Top Exercises, Seminars / Workshops, publication of UN Journal and CUNPK newsletter, and Internship for students from Delhi University during International courses.
As on 01 Feb 2025, CUNPK has trained approximately 2000 foreign participants from 96 countries and approximately 10,000 officers from the Indian Army since its inception in the year 2000.
CUNPK has come a long way in imparting quality training in the field of United Nations Peacekeeping and has carved a niche for itself amongst the fraternity of peacekeeping training institutes worldwide.
Till date, CUNPK has conducted:
- 17 International Seminars
- 31 National Seminars
- 91 International Training Courses
- 286 in-person National Courses
- 9 Virtual National Courses
for contingent officers, military observers, civilian police, staff, and logistic officers.
It has conducted many multinational Peacekeeping Operation Exercises, the annual conference of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres (IAPTC) in 2005, and seven bilateral seminars.
CUNPK has also conducted:
- 22 Air Force training capsules
- 2 Indian Navy training capsules
