The charter of duties of CUNPK are as under :-
  • Be a nodal point of contact for all issues related to UN training & research.
  • Act as a training facility, aimed at providing integrated training to all service officers (Army, Air Force & Navy) and to Central Armed Police Forces as Military Contingent Officers/ Military Observers, Staff Officers, Logistics Officers and Military Liaison Officers.
  • Provide similar training facilities to personnel from Friendly Foreign Countries.
  • Train the Trainers and then monitor pre-induction training of contingents through Commanding Officers.
  •  Plan & jointly conduct Field Training Exercises (FTX) on UN peacekeeping with other friendly countries in India and abroad.
  • Intellectual exchange by organising seminars / discussions / workshops.
  • Receive & interact with delegations from Friendly Foreign Countries.
  • Provide resources to DPO, UN HQ for organising specialised courses for students from across the globe.
  • Provide suitably qualified officers to UN training institutes of other countries and for undergoing courses related to UN peacekeeping.
  • Provide Mobile Training Teams (MTTs) to Friendly Foreign Countries to build capability of developing countries in the sphere of UN peacekeeping.
  • Undertake visits to other peacekeeping training centres for own capability enhancement & for interaction at staff level.
  • Promote research in all facets of peacekeeping operations & enhance / update the doctrinal aspects of training.
  • Provide asstance to DPO, UN HQ towards policy formulation for training & revision of training material.
  • Establish associations with UN and UN related international agencies for training related purposes.
  • Be an active member of International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres (IAPTC) at the international level & Association of Asia Pacific Peacekeeping Training Centres (AAPTC) at the regional level.
